Because highway corridors crisscross the United States, invasive plant prevention and control on highway rights-of-way is critical to all land managers’ efforts. The intention of this paper is to encourage partnership with highway departments to better protect our lands from the economic and ecological impacts that plant invasions bring to all. This paper will report on existing partnerships at the international, federal, State, and local levels that are working towards a common goal, based on national invasive plant policy. Because a highway runs through your land should not equate to increased weed invasions. Sample highway partnerships from various regions of the nation will be illustrated and explained.
